Pet Radiology in Fort Lauderdale

Radiographs (x-rays) are generally used by veterinarians as a diagnostic tool. In addition to looking at fractures and obstructions, they help your pet’s doctor diagnose medical problems of multiple organ systems. Radiographs are also used to monitor the progression and status of various diseases and conditions.

DPC Veterinary Hospital is proud to offer state-of-the-art, digital radiology. The radiographs are taken on-site by our experienced technicians and developed directly on the doctor’s computer. The views are then conveniently saved in your pet’s file for permanent storage. This allows the doctor to enlarge, reduce, or manipulate the clarity of the x-rays as necessary, making it easier to diagnose problems and identify obstructions. We are also able to copy or send x-rays to clients or other veterinarians with just the click of a button.

Complete Radiology Consultations for Your Pet

In addition to taking x-rays, DPC also offers radiographic consultations and ultrasound whenever necessary. A consultation allows our veterinarian to send your pet’s digital x-rays and case history to a radiologist for further review. We will then receive a formal report from the specialist with their findings. A specialist’s expertise is extremely beneficial when treating severe and chronic cases.

Ultrasounds can be performed on our premises on a scheduled basis. Ultrasound imaging is a painless, non-invasive procedure, which uses sound waves to produce a real-time visual image of your pet’s internal organs. Our doctors will use these images and their analysis as a tool in further diagnosing your pet’s condition.
